West Virginia's Voice on Mental Illness
NAMI West Virginia is the voice for the families of those individuals with a serious mental illness. Those families in turn are very often the voice for those who are too ill to speak for themselves.
NAMI WV is the statewide non-profit, tax-exempt organization of family support advocacy groups comprised of fourteen affiliates across the Mountain State. These local groups offer understanding, encouragement and mutual support to all who are faced with a serious and persistent mental illness of loved ones. Those with a mental illness are also encouraged to join the organization. It is an affiliate of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, in Arlington, Virginia. The focus of the state group is on advocacy, education, and support .
